About Marco

Born in Brazil, Marco has called Charleston home for over two decades. He founded ECL Design with a clear mission: to create meaningful outdoor spaces that elevate the way people live and connect with nature.

As owner, operator, and lead designer, Marco brings not only technical expertise, but a true passion for design and detail. Whether he’s grading a property for a custom home or selecting the perfect pavers for a coastal patio, his thoughtful, hands-on approach ensures the highest standard of craftsmanship.

When he’s not designing landscapes, Marco enjoys spending time with his wife, Melissa, and their three children—Max, Lily, and Sophia Kate. You’ll often find him making hot sauce from peppers grown in his garden, bird watching by the Wando River, or planning their next family adventure.
